The Yosemite Songwriting Retreat will feature instruction by Grammy winning songwriter and musician Peter Rowan, singer-songwriter Terre Roche and award winning songwriter Keith Greeninger.
The retreat gives aspiring songwriters the opportunity to write and record their music as well as receive feedback and coaching from industry professionals. It is scheduled to take place October 10 thru 13 at the Yosemite Bug Mountain Resort in Midpines, California.
“People are hungry for this kind of opportunity to open their hearts in a safe and supportive environment, work on the craft of songwriting, or even explore an urge to try songwriting for the first time,” Greeninger said. “It’s as much of an inspiration for the teachers as it is for the students. I’m always surprised by how much I learn from both aspiring and experienced songwriters and how nourishing it is to connect with others on this kind of intimate, face to face level.”
Faculty includes songwriters Adam Burns, Jayme Kelly Curtis, and Gail Dreifus as well as recording engineers Adam Burns and Mark Albosta. Guitar-builder and musical engineer Rick Turner will be available to repair and tune instruments for a fee.
The retreat is open to anyone 18 years and older. Tuition fees are $325 and accommodations run between $175-$260 per person. Accommodation fees include meals at the resort’s café and discounts on spa visits and yoga classes.
Events begin Friday, October 10 at 7:30 pm with a public concert at The Yosemite Bug, by Peter Rowan and Terre Roche. Tickets are $15 for all ages and are available at Brown Paper
