Clipse reunited for the first time in more than a decade when they performed at 2022 Something in the Water with Pharrell singing “Mr. Me Too,” “Grindin’” and “What Happened to That Boy?” Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews Band, Usher, Lil Baby, Chloe x Halle and Tyler the Creator are among the acts who also performed at the festival in 2022.
Pharrell launched the festival in 2019 with the mission to “not only unite and empower the community but also celebrate diversity and showcase the magic of Virginia Beach,” according to a press release. “Musicians, students, artists, activists and more will converge on Virginia Beach to activate and amplify, collaborate, and co-author, shift and shape the future.”
Walmart is the presenting sponsor this year for the first time, with the goal of uplifting the local community. “Strengthening local communities is core to Walmart’s DNA,” Cedric Clark, executive vice president, store operations for Walmart U.S. states. “By investing in our associates and in the communities we serve, we help build a foundation where people can live their full potential every day. We’re excited to team up with Something in the Water, returning to a special place to Walmart, Virginia’s Hampton Roads, to help celebrate and empower this community we’re so proud to be a part of.”
The festival will be live-streamed on Pharrell’s YouTube channel all weekend.
