You don’t even need to be a casual basketball fan to know the names Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. The duo on the Chicago Bulls ruled the 1990s with six championships and accolades out the wazoo.

But more recently the two have experienced an icy relationship. What was once a strong bond on the court and an undeniable chemistry has diminished into a broken friendship. To some, this is an impossible development. To others, it’s long in the making.

With all of this history behind them, though, and with Steve Kerr telling the world Michael Jordan wrote and read a poem after the Bulls’ 1998 championship, we thought it would be interesting to see what our old friends at ChatGPT thought MJ would write about Pip in song.

Below is that fictional song.

“Oh, Scottie Pippen”

(Verse 1)
In the windy city, where the legends were born,
There was a duo, Pippen and Jordan, together we’d soar.
Scottie, my brother, my wingman, my ace,
We ran the court, taking on every challenge we’d face.

(Chorus)
Oh, Scottie Pippen, my partner in crime,
We were unstoppable, a duo that stood the test of time.
From the three-point shots to the flashy dunks we’d slam,
Our names forever etched in basketball’s grand program.

(Verse 2)
You had the wingspan, the finesse, and the grace,
Stealing the ball, locking down defenders in every chase.
I knew I could count on you, my trust never waned,
Together we conquered, our legacy forever ingrained.

(Chorus)
Oh, Scottie Pippen, my partner in crime,
We were unstoppable, a duo that stood the test of time.
From the three-point shots to the flashy dunks we’d slam,
Our names forever etched in basketball’s grand program.

(Bridge)
Through the ups and downs, the victories and strife,
We had each other’s backs, building a bond for life.
No matter what challenges came our way,
Together we rose, shining brighter every day.

(Chorus)
Oh, Scottie Pippen, my partner in crime,
We were unstoppable, a duo that stood the test of time.
From the three-point shots to the flashy dunks we’d slam,
Our names forever etched in basketball’s grand program.

(Outro)
As the years go by, our memories will remain,
Legends on the court, an unbreakable chain.
Scottie, my friend, this song’s for you,
For the journey we shared, for everything we grew.

Final Thoughts

As you can see, robot Michael Jordan decided to lean into his friendship and the good times with Pippen. He calls him his “partner in crime,” true given the two were known for stealing the ball often. And while the song does mention the “ups and downs” and “strife,” it never goes into the more serious issues the two are experiencing. And that’s for the better.

Let’s sing of the good times, after all.
