Premiering on Thursday, Feb. 16, the special will feature never before heard stories behind some of Ballerini’s biggest songs. The journey will begin with her platinum-selling debut album The First Time and take viewers through her 2022 project Subject To Change. Watch a sneak peek of Ballerini performing a track from the latter record, “Doin’ My Best,” below.
Filmed in front of a studio audience outside of Nashville, Ballerini opens up about her evolution as a songwriter and an artist, her writing process, and balancing her life and career.
“Songwriting is my therapy, my haven, my best friend, and my exhale,” Ballerini shared in a statement. “It’s the purest part of what I do, and I am grateful to join a lineup of storytellers I’ve learned from as I tell mine.”
The show will premiere at 10p/9c on the 16th with additional airings on Sunday, February 19th at 11a/10c (CMT), February 24th at 8p/7c (CMT Music) and Saturday February 25th at 10a/9c and 6p/5c (CMT Music).
Ballerini is the first female to headline CMT Storytellers. Past artists to take part in the special include Brooks & Dunn and Darius Rucker. CMT Storytellers is executive produced by CMT’s Margaret Comeaux, Switched On Entertainment’s John Hamlin and Ladypants Productions’ Patrizia DiMaria.
In addition to her Storytellers appearance, Ballerini is set to co-host the CMT Music Awards and perform as part of The Judds: Love Is Alive – The Final Concert. At this year’s Grammys, Ballerini was nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for “HEARTFIRST.”
She is also set to embark on the second leg of her headlining HEARTFIRST TOUR this spring and joins Kenny Chesney on his highly anticipated “I Go Back Tour.” Find a full list of her tour dates, HERE.
