Dawes returned to Bonnaroo this year with a bang. The roots rockers graduated from the Troo Music Lounge in 2010 to The Other Tent, which they packed in the second night of the festival despite stiff competition from St. Vincent, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Ludacris. To celebrate the occasion, Dawes played one of the most rocking sets of its career. The set included a cover of Paul Simon’s “Kodachrome,” as well as a brand new song “From The Window Seat.”
The next morning Dawes again drew a packed crowd, this time at the Sonic Stage. Sonic Stage coordinator Annabel Lukins said the band’s Saturday morning crowd was the biggest the stage had ever seen.
Singer/guitarist Taylor Goldsmith mentioned that the band is winding down its touring schedule to focus on recording the followup to its 2011 album, Nothing Is Wrong.
Goldsmith gave us the run down on the new song and his Bonnaroo experiences, past and present.
