“Folks, I have been devastated ever since I got the news that legendary rockers The R.E.M.s broke up,” said Stephen Colbert solemnly on last night’s Colbert Report. The TV pundit then brought out R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe and famed producer Brian Eno to sing a rousing version of “Lean On Me,” in the wake of R.E.M.’s demise.
