The clip added another layer to the “full-circle” moment that Underwood is currently experiencing. In 2005, the 21-year-old boarded her first flight to St. Louis to audition for American Idol judges Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. She wowed them with her rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me.” The “Cowboy Casanova” singer would dominate voting during her Idol run, reportedly notching 500 million votes for the season and 37 million in the finale alone.

“You Don’t Understand how excited I am!!!!!” wrote one Idol viewer on X/Twitter. “I was about to never watch the show again after @katyperry left but I absolutely love @carrieunderwood and have seen her live front row 3 times that’s how big of a fan I am I’m so happy.”
