The unannounced reunion happened during a recent taping of the South Korean television program Inkigayo, which spotlights live performances from some of the country’s biggest artists.

According to AllKPop, Jungkook and V’s on-stage reunion was not included in the episode’s initial broadcast. Shortly after, a clip of the moment was leaked on social media, causing a frenzy of excitement from fans.

Released earlier this month, “Seven” was co-written by Latto and seasoned music producers Jon Bellion, Cirkut, Andrew Watt, and hit songwriter Theron Thomas. According to Billboard, the track earned Jungkook and Latto their first No. 1 hits when it debuted atop the Hot 100 and Global 200 charts.

Jungkook first rose to stardom nearly a decade ago as a member of the record-breaking boy band BTS. The K-Pop outfit has become a global phenomenon and one of the most-streamed acts globally, thanks to hits like “Dynamite” and “Boy With Luv.”

In 2022, BTS made headlines when they announced the group would be going on hiatus until 2025 to allow its members to enlist in the South Korean military, a service required by all male citizens before their 28th birthday.

In the meantime, Jungkook seems to be focused on starting a new chapter as a solo artist, but it’s still unclear if the 25-year-old talent has a larger project in the works. During a recent live Q&A session with fans, Jungkook revealed V was also in the midst of prepping his own batch of solo music.
