Watch Jelly Roll Make It Rain With Powerful “Save Me” Performance in Torrential Downpour

While Jelly Roll promotes his upcoming album, Beautifully Broken, which releases in October, the country singer decided to go ahead and kick off his Beautifully Broken tour. Opening at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, the star decided to treat fans to several of his hit songs. But during his performance of “Save Me”, the artist fought through the rain. And when performing the song again in Idaho, it once again started to rain. But while singers have dealt with horrible weather in the past, it appears that Jelly Roll conjured up the rain himself.

With thousands in attendance, fans decided to upload several songs performed by Jelly Roll. And during “Save Me”, many fans not at the show seemed confused as to why it was raining. While performers can’t control the weather, He performed both shows in an arena. Given there is more than enough cover to keep the singer and his fans dry, the rain was part of the show.

Jelly Roll Looks For “Purpose” In His Songs

Outside of performing in the rain, Jelly Roll opened up about what he looks for in a song. “I’m looking for songs that have a purpose. When I go to put out a song under the name Jelly Roll, I think to myself, Why?” He added, “Because for the first time in my life, it has nothing to do with a financial decision. I’m well past putting out anything for money. So, now, it really is a why.”

While touring and releasing new music, Jelly Roll revealed he continues to stay focused on his recovery from drugs. He even attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Although not talking at the meetings, he said, “This is the first time that I’ve talked about this publicly. I don’t tell people I go to meetings. So I just sit and I watch, and this kid, he’s going through it. You can tell. One of the old men sitting in there was like: ‘Look, man. It’s all good. Nobody came in here on a winning streak.”‘
