Watch Eric Church Perform Morgan Wallen’s No. 1 Hit After Fan Calls Him Out for Not Knowing How To Play It

Eric Church and Morgan Wallen joined forces for “Man Made a Bar,” a deep cut on Wallen’s 2023 album, One Thing at a Time. The song reached No. 1 on Billboard’s country charts in both the U.S. and Canada. Wallen has performed it on his record-breaking One Night at a Time tour, and the pair even teamed up for a duet at last November’s CMA Awards. However, the popular country tune hasn’t made many appearances on Church’s setlist—until recently, when the “Drink in My Hand” singer decided to prove a point.

Eric Church: “Not My F—ing Song”

Initially, Eric Church turned down a fan’s request to play “Man Made a Bar” during his Country Thunder set in Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.

“I don’t do that,” Church recalled saying to the crowd. “It’s not my song.”

That’s when the fan called him out. “She said, ‘You don’t know how to play it,’” the ACM Award winner said, inciting laughter from the crowd.

“True,” Church admitted. “But still not my f—ing song.”

He continued, “This is for her a– right here,” as he launched into a rendition of the Morgan Wallen duet.

The country star struggled through the opening notes at first. “I still don’t know how to play it,” he said. “I’ll figure it out.” And then he did.

Social media users joked that the unnamed fan knew exactly what she was doing by issuing Eric Church an ultimatum. “Whoever she was she knew exactly what to say to get him to play it or die!” one TikTok user wrote. “love this! How awesome!”

Another fan agreed: “A true Church Choir member, she knows he’s petty.”

How Michael Jordan Got Eric Church to Invest in the Charlotte Hornets

Eric Church has become close friends with NBA great Michael Jordan. The two North Carolina natives have attended several Charlotte Hornets games together over the years. So when Jordan looked to sell a majority ownership in the NBA franchise, he knew exactly who to call.

Church needed some time to reflect before ultimately agreeing: “I thought, you know, I like this. I like that it’s back to my touchstone, back to the cornerstone of what North Carolina means to me.”
