Hot off the heels of April 1st’s Strokes/Elvis Costello pairing, two of the hottest bands in the universe, Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem, joined forces to rock New York at Madison Square Garden last night. Members of the Grammy-winning Canadian collective joined James Murphy and crew to add screamy backup vocals to Sound Of Silver‘s “North American Scum” during what was likely LCD’s last-ever show.

The result was legendary. Watch the video (and the full set) below. The 3-and-a-half hour evening ended with a Harry Nillson cover (“Jump Into The Fire”) and “New York, You’re Bringing Me Down.”
