The lineup has been revealed for the 2023 edition of Gov’t Mule frontman and ex-Allman Brothers Band member Warren Haynes’ annual Christmas Jam charity concert. The event will be held on December 9 at ExploreAsheville.com Arena in his hometown of Asheville, North Carolina.

In addition to Gov’t Mule, the artists performing at the show include ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash with his frequent collaborator Myles Kennedy, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, and veteran alt-metal band Clutch.

The bill also features indie-rock singer/bassist Karina Rykman and American Babies, an indie/Americana band led by guitarist/producer Tom Hamilton.
The concert will raise money for the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity and for BeLoved Asheville, an organization that helps the local homeless population and others in need.
Tickets for the 2023 Christmas Jam will go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 27 at 10 a.m. ET at Ticketmaster.com, while pre-sale tickets VIP and travel packages are available now. “Christmas Jam is such a special event for me and my family and more than 30 years later, it’s still so exciting to see the dynamic talent that comes together for the community in my beloved home of Asheville,” Haynes said in an announcement, according to the Asheville Citizen-Times. The singer/guitarist added the goal of the event is “to have fun, play music, and celebrate being together while raising money for a local charity.”
Meanwhile, a new installment of the Warren Haynes Presents: The Benefit Concert album and video series, featuring performances from previous editions of the Christmas Jam, will be released on December 8, and can be pre-ordered now. focuses on the 30th anniversary Christmas Jam, held over two nights in December 2018.
Among the performers at the event were Gov’t Mule, who presented a Pink Floyd tribute, as well as Dave Grohl, Grace Potter, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James, Jamey Johnson, Eric Church, Joe Bonamassa, Phish’s Mike Gordon, and more.
The Benefit Concert, Volume 20 is available in multiple formats and configurations, including a deluxe three-CD/two-Blu-ray edition and a two.CD/DVD collection, as well as four two-LP colored-vinyl sets, each featuring different performances from the 2018 shows.
As previously reported, Gov’t Mule will mount a 2024 North American tour in February celebrating the band’s 30th anniversary. First up for Haynes and company is a November 2023 tour of Europe. After the Christmas Jam, the band will close out the year with a December 29 concert at The Met in Philadelphia, and a December 30-31 stand at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. The band also will be hosting the 14th edition of its Island Exodus destination concert and vacation event from January 14-18, 2024, in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The extravaganza will also feature performances by Haynes (solo), Robert Randolph Band, Samantha Fish, and more.
