Walker Hayes is a country musician from Mobile, Alabama known for his songs “Fancy Like” and “Country Stuff.” Thanks to his No. 1 hit, “Fancy Like,” Hayes not only received a Grammy Nomination for Best Country Song, but it also gave him the platform to become an integral part of Nashville’s country music scene.

Recently, Walker Hayes released his first-ever Christmas album, Christmas Vacation. Released on November 1, Hayes’ debut Christmas album is a culmination of Christmas film references, dysfunctional families, and cover songs all wrapped in a classic pop country music encasing. It’s not your typical PG-rated Christmas album. Though, it’s surely a fun one that country music families will be singing on Christmas Eve.
Thanks to his relevance in Nashville and “Christmas Vacation,” Hayes was able to make his debut appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade appearing on Green Giant’s “Harvest in the Valley” float. Hayes brought a piece of Nashville with him, as he performed a rendition of his pop country classic, “Fancy Like,” at the parade alongside his family. All in all, the performance was all about bringing pop country to Thanksgiving’s biggest stage. And needless to say, Hayes did just that.
Walker Hayes’ Debut Christmas Album ‘Christmas Vacation’
Since its November 1 release, Hayes has already seen loads of success with his first-ever Christmas album. Thanks to the reimaging of his hit song “Fancy Like,” “Fancy Like Christmas” has scored 1.7 million views on YouTube and gave his entire album a much-needed boost in attention.
In addition to “Fancy Like Christmas,” Hayes’ album includes songs, “Christmas Vacation,” Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Come On Christmas,” and “Let It Be Christmas.” Thanks to combining his original music with the Christmas classics, Hayes’ new album gives listeners the best of both worlds. The album certainly has a silly side, but a serious one as well.
Walker Hayes’ new album adds to his already long list of published albums which includes New Money, Country Stuff, and most recently, Sober Thoughts. Hayes’ Macy’s Day Parade Performance is seemingly a large milestone in the country musician’s already fairly decorated career.
