Already a platinum-selling artist in Australia, Vance Joy (real name: James Keogh) takes his folk-pop songs stateside with the release of God Loves You When You’re Dancing. It’s a simple, straightforward EP, shot through with acoustic guitar and a raw, high-flying falsetto that splits the difference between Chris Martin and Jeff Buckley.

Keogh ditches the guitar and picks up a ukelele for this live performance of “Snaggletooth,” performed on an ocean coastline while waves roar and crash in the background.
“I wrote this song after I found out what a snaggletooth was: a tooth that sticks out at a different direction from the other teeth,” he says. “It sparked a story about imperfections in people that you grow to love.”
