Swamp rock singer/songwriter Tony Joe White, whose songs have been recorded by, among others, Tina Turner and Elvis Presley, has enjoyed a successful solo career since the early 2000s. His recently released Hoodoo features his signature laid-back, blues-soaked style. On the album track “9 Foot Sack”, White reminisces on a childhood spent on his father’s cotton farm.
