Who’s that?: Tancred is Jess Abbott, a member of Minnesota indie pop trio Now, Now.
Fun fact: She started to play music by learning Boston’s “More Than A Feeling.”
Sounds like: indie pop with vocals that lean a little more pop-punk. Think Land of Talk or Tegan and Sara.
Songwriter says: “‘The Ring’ is very much about loss and the inevitable craziness that follows,” Abbot tells us. “In the video I wanted to physically manifest the act of searching for what you lost, only to realize that it’s not really there. Still, I wanted the primary focus to be craziness, being alone in your room just losing it. Doing things you would never do under other circumstances. Being dangerous and scary.”
