When Louis Johnson and Jordan Meredith of Nashville-based duo The Saint Johns met and had a playful song battle at a mutual friend’s party, they had no idea of the success that would follow. The fateful meeting led to something many songwriters dream of: a publishing deal with Dr. Luke’s Prescription Songs. Fortunately for them, the duo’s luck has continued with the release of their EP Open Water. “Your Head and Your Heart,” the Saint Johns’ first single, debuted at #3 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and was featured on an episode of ABC’s Nashville.

In both melody and lyrics, “Your Head and Your Heart” expertly echoes the sinking feeling we’ve all had as a relationship has come to an unwanted end. “‘Your Head and Your Heart’ is a song about love. The kind that won’t let you walk away, even when you want to,” says Johnson.
Like the song, the video chronicles the ultimate breakdown of a once blissful relationship. Staying true to the theme of the song was something that was important to Johnson and Meredith. “With the video, we wanted to paint a picture of the song by taking you through the ups and downs of a relationship. It’s something that everyone can relate to,” says Meredith.
