Los Angeles singer-songwriter Eleni Mandell‘s video for “Put My Baby To Bed” is a very good – and sonically pleasing – way to meet your “cute baby video” quota for the day. It features Mandell’s three-year-old twins, who she says were the major source of inspiration for her album Let’s Fly A Kite, out January 28.

The clip shows Mandell on a journey home to her little ones, complete with a bright red prom dress and a dance with a stranger in a truck stop parking lot. “I was driving home on hwy 5 from Sacramento to Los Angeles after opening for Nick Lowe when the song came to me. The video concept happened almost simultaneously, ” says Mandell.

“Manny Marquez and I have made many videos together so I felt very comfortable with him, even wearing a prom dress while walking through a truck stop at 8am. I love how it turned out!”
