It’s been a busy year for Billy Bragg. The British folk vet released a strong new album, Tooth & Nail, toured the States, got recognized by the Americana Music Association and even sat down for a rambling Drinks With interview. Now Bragg is looking back — with the 30th anniversary reissue of Life’s A Riot with Spy Vs Spy, his debut album. The re-mastered version features both the original album and a live solo version, recorded at London Union Chapel this June.

Over on his official site, a new series called ‘Get Behind Billy Bragg’ finds the songwriter musing on the treasure in his back catalog (or “catalogue,” if you prefer). We’ll help keep the nostalgia going by re-premiering this video for “You Woke Up My Neighbourhood,” off 1991’s Don’t Try This At Home. R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe and Peter Buck, who play on the record, stop by for what looks like a pretty cool house party.
