Most know Achtung Baby as a turning point for Irish megastars U2. The band’s seventh studio album, produced by Daniel Lanois, Brian Eno and Steve Lillywhite, won a Grammy for Best Rock Performance and propelled U2’s career into the ’90s.
Now approaching its twentieth anniversary, the October 31 reissue of Achtung Baby features previously unreleased remixes, B-sides, demos and documentary footage. It will also include Davis Guggenheim’s “From The Sky Down,” a documentary in which U2 discusses the making of Achtung Baby from Hansa studios in Berlin, one of the original recording locations for the record. The film will premiere as the opener at the Toronto International Film Festival September 8.
