Releasing CALL ME IF YOU GET LOSTThe Estate Sale on March 31, the California-bred star attached eight new songs to his 2021 Grammy-winning studio album. Among this batch of loosies he unloaded, “Wharf Talk” with A$AP Rocky will surely be a fan-favorite for a handful of reasons.

As their seventh official collaborative song, with their most recent prior track being Nigo’s “Lost and Found Freestyle 2019,” “Wharf Talk” proves once again just how well the duo can mesh onto one another’s production styles.

Crafting the instrumental himself, Tyler’s sonics deliver a satisfying combination of funky drums and vibrant synths. Over his beat, he employs his whimsical, patented auto-tuned crooning voice that he’s been honing over the last few LPs. Throughout his verses and hook, Tyler calls back to the album’s title, convincing a significant other of the occasional pleasures of getting lost.

I want you to come get lost with me
Ask you one more time before I tread too deep
So can you make up your mind?
A wave’s gonna come, wave’s gonna come

Continuing this motif in the final verse of the song, A$AP Rocky paints an even more vivid picture of what getting lost looks like. Depicting elegant pleasures and euphoric romance, Rocky yearns for his lover’s company on his journey.

Be my señorita, put a ring up on her finger
Take her out the climate, somewhere to put her feet up
Neck Valentinin’, rubies, diamonds, uh
Billionaire yacht party, climate was hot
Baby, if you seasick, we could stop on the dock
Yeah, lobster and calamari, caviar, um
Lots of luggage, private boarding, carry on, um

“Wharf Talk” is the third track from The Estate Sale to be given the music video treatment, following visuals for pre-released songs like “Dogtooth” and “Sorry Not Sorry.” Doing an excellent job of expanding the Call Me If You Get Lost universe, Tyler’s rendezvous with Rocky impresses per usual.
