On March 1, Hear Music/Concord Records will release Troubadours: Carole King – James Taylor The Rise of the Singer-Songwriter, a new CD/DVD package from songwriting legends James Taylor and Carole King. King and Taylor joined forces for The Troubadour Reunion Tour in 2010.

The DVD contains a documentary about the ’70s singer-songwriter movement, which King and Taylor were at the forefront of, and features interviews with Elton John, David Crosby, Jackson Browne and more. Directed by Morgan Neville, the film earned praise at the Sundance Film Festival.

The accompanying 10-track CD features pivotal songs from ’70s-era artists, and includes King’s “It’s Too Late”,  Taylor’s “Sweet Baby James,” Elton John’s “Take Me To The Pilot”, Bonnie Raitt’s “Love Has No Pride”, Linda Ronstadt’s “Desperado”, Warren Zevon’s “Poor Poor Pitiful Me”, Tom Wait’s “Ol’ ‘55” and Little Feat’s “Dixie Chicken.”
