Few stars can summon the holiday spirit quite like Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant. As a result, they were the perfect choice as co-hosts for the last two CMA Country Christmas specials. The duo hosted the show and performed together in 2023 and have returned to do it again this year. Both artists delivered stories, smiles, and performances sure to make fans want to make hot cocoa and break out the decorations.

Yearwood and Grant are wonderful individually. However, when they perform together, the duo is like a force of nature. They proved that once again with a great rendition of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” to close tonight’s (December 3) broadcast. Having the pair of co-hosts close the show seems fitting, they kicked off the event with “Sing Your Praise to the Lord.”
The J. Fred Coots and Haven Gillespie-penned song has been injecting fun into Christmas celebrations since Harry Reser and His Orchestra recorded it for the first time in 1934. Almost 100 years later, Yearwood and Grant put their spin on the song, ensuring that it remains part of the season.
Amy Grant and Trisha Yearwood Chat About Hosting CMA Country Christmas
Trisha Yearwood and Amy Grant sat down with Country Top 40 to talk about hosting CMA Country Christmas for the second year in a row. During the conversation, they also shared their admiration for one another.
“I was really excited to get the call to come back and co-host again with you, Amy because it was so much fun last year,” Yearwood told Grant. “When you’re in this, the music industry, you kind of see each other at things and you get a chance to kind of say hello, but you don’t get a chance to really spend much time together,” she added.
“Last year was the first time I got to really just see how funny you are and just how you have a sense of calm,” Yearwood continued. “I talk 90 miles an hour and you’re just a sense of calm that is so nice,” she added.
“It’s funny, when we worked together, something about you already felt familiar to me,” Grant told her co-host. “It just happened in passing because you were friends with Vince before I knew you. But it was just interesting to get to work together. I just thought it felt so natural to work with you and to be called back,” she added.
