Known as the “Queen of Funk,” Chaka Khan is one of the most decorated and accomplished singers of the past 50 years. With a career that now spans those five decades, Khan has won 10 Grammy Awards and sold about 70 million records. Khan also took part in a recent “Verzuz” battle against singera Stephanie Mills.

For the 68-year-old Chicago-born Khan, music has been part of her life since the beginning. And her popularity began to increase in the 1970s as she fronted the band, Rufus. With that group, Khan achieved a number of hits, which only increased as she took on a solo career.
