Due July 29 on Reprise Records, Hypnotic Eye is the band’s first new studio album in four years, and 13th overall. Early reports liken it to Petty’s first few classic albums — Rolling Stone described it as “maximum rock & roll.”

Hypnotic Eye will be available on CD, high-resolution Blu-ray audio, vinyl and as a digital download. Those who preorder the digital album on iTunes and Amazon starting June 3rd will have a leg up – they’ll receive an instant download of a new album track, with more to come before the July 29 release date.

The 30-date tour will feature rock veteran Steve Winwood, and will include stops at San Francisco’s Outside Lands Festival and the Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, Virginia. Tickets will go on sale at Ticketmaster.com and other select ticketing services on Saturday May 31.

For the faithful, those who sign up for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers’ Highway Companions Fan Club will receive a CD copy of Hypnotic Eye as well as an exclusive new live album, Live 2013. The Tom Petty-curated album features highlights from their 2013 residencies at New York’s Beacon Theatre and L.A.’s Fonda Theatre, plus highlights from their appearance at last year’s Bonnaroo Festival.

A deluxe reissue of Petty’s 1994 album Wildflowers is also said to be due this year.
