Tom Brislin Visits American Songwriter

It’s not easy being a piano man in Guitar Town, but New Jersey native Tom Brislin seems to make it work. During his career, Brislin has played keys for a who’s who of famous rockers, including Meat Loaf, Yes and Debbie Harry. Brislin, who moved to Nashville with the hope of launching a career as a singer-songwriter, stopped by our office recently to play the song “Liftoff” from his debut solo album Hurry Up And Smell The Roses. Please try to remain seated.

I couldn’t believe it when Tom’s name popped up on my American Songwriter e-news letter! Glad to see he’s landed in Nashville (the city of my heart), and that he has a new project coming down the line. I too am captivated by space travel, so the new song is very poignant for me. Kudos! Hope to see you in Battle Creek again someday, if I don’t get back to Nashville first.

Tom, great song, love your music, and will always have fond memories of that introverted and happy kid. Keep writing!
