Tigirlily Gold Shares Christmas Original, “Falalala Falling”

Halloween isn’t even over, but Tigirlily Gold is already in the Christmas mood. The new release, “Falalala Falling,” “captures the romanticism of the holidays,” per a press release.

The pair—Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh—tout that Christmas is the best time to fall in love. “We grew up in North Dakota, and we are all too familiar with getting ‘snowed in,’ but it’s not always the worst case scenario if you’re snowed in with the one you love,” the pair said in a release.

It’s getting kinda cold, so baby hold me close / Wrapped up in each other like we’re underneath the tree, the lyrics read.

“We love Christmas, obviously,” Tigirlily Gold told American Songwriter of the original holiday track earlier this year. “We’ve covered Christmas songs, but we really wanted to write our own. We wanted to have our own Christmas thing out in the world.”

The sisters have been on a Christmas roll this month, having shared another jingle bell-tinged song on October 21. Their cover of Faith Hill’s “Where Are You Christmas?” punctuated the release of the Hallmark movie of the same name.

Both holiday offerings come on the heels of their EP Blonde. The four-track project featured their hit track “Shoot Tequila,” their homage to the Dolly Parton way of life “Blonde,” and two more fun-loving country tracks. “Shoot Tequila” became the duo’s first charting single.

Blonde hones in on what it means to be unapologetically yourself while remaining true to your roots. We are so excited for this new chapter of music together,” the band previously said in a statement.

Even with their onslaught of releases this year, the pair have teased an upcoming project, telling American Songwriter “There will be new songs coming in 2024.

“The first part of the album will be a continuation of Blonde–”Let’s Go Girls” honky tonk,” they added. “However some of the songs dig deeper, edgier, sassier…”
