Allman Brothers’ Band singer and keyboardist Greg Allman came home this week to find he had been robbed. Two burglars reportedly broke into his Richmond Hill (a suburb of Savannah, Ga.) home when he was out of town and stole various collector’s items.

Mickey Sands of the Bryan County Sheriff’s Department said that 27-year-old Craig Matthew George and 19-year-old Brittney Ann Sahlberg were apprehended and charged for the burglary. Sands also confirmed that Allman, 61, does know the two would-be thieves, but did not report how. George and Sahlberg were released from jail on bond. No contact with their attorneys has been made.

Upon arresting the two, police recovered Allman’s collection of silver dollars and gold coins, unreleased Allman Brothers recordings, his knife collection, and personal papers. The thieves also made away with a handgun, which was not recovered.

Allman is now taking more precaution to protect his Richmond Hill home. “He’s upgrading his security,” detective Sands said Thursday.

They may have thought they had gotten away with Allman’s “one more silver dollar,” but thanks to some quick police work it’s the whipping post for these two midnight riders.
