The Strokes are set to release new single “Under Cover of Darkness” tomorrow in advance of upcoming fourth album Angles. The song will be a free download for 48 hours at the band’s official site before becoming available for purchase on iTunes on February 15. Additionally, a limited edition 7” will be released in April for Record Store Day.

“Under Cover of Darkness” marks the New York rockers’ return following a lengthy hiatus. It is the first new material they have released since 2006’s First Impressions of Earth, though the individual members of the band have been keeping busy with other musical pursuits. Most notably, drummer Fabrizio Moretti released an acclaimed album with the band Little Joy in 2008, and frontman Julian Casablancas’s first solo record came out in 2009.

Angles will be released March 22 on RCA.
