The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood Reveals Band Has Tentative 2025 Tour Plans; Shares Update About New Faces Album

The Rolling Stones have had a bit of downtime since wrapping up their 2024 North American tour in support of their latest album, Hackney Diamonds, this past July. Now, guitarist Ronnie Wood has revealed in a new BBC radio interview that the band may be getting back on the road in 2025.

Speaking with Tom Sutcliffe, presenter for the BBC program Front Row, Wood said The Rolling Stones are hoping to mount “a tour of Europe … next year.”

Wood chatted with Sutcliffe while previewing his new art exhibit in London earlier this week. The show officially opened at the flagship Andrew Martin store on Wednesday, November 13, and will run through December 3.

Ronnie’s exhibition features many of his latest paintings, some of which depict Rolling Stones members, including himself. Also on display are prints of some of the hand-drawn set lists Wood creates for every Rolling Stones concert.

Asked if he gives his bandmates copies of his set lists, Wood noted, “Well, they come into my room and go, ‘Oh, that’s what we’re playing tonight,’ as a quick reminder.”

The guitarist also explained that making a set list is part of his pre-concert ritual.

“It’s part of my getting together [mentally,]” he shared. “Once I’ve done that, then I can start to get changed and go to makeup and wardrobe and blah, blah, blah. But I have to ground myself with a set list first.”

As for choosing what songs are played, Wood pointed out that that’s up to The Rolling Stones’ famous frontman.

“After a soundcheck, Mick [Jagger] tells us what he’d like to sing, so then, we all know,” he reported. “It’s different every night.”

Wood Also Shared Update About New Faces Project

Also during the interview, Wood revealed that his old band the Faces are making progress on a new recording project.

“I’ve been in the studio with the Faces last week, and we are making some continued developments of music we made back in day,” he said. “And it still sounds like no time has gone by.”

The surviving Faces members—Wood, singer Rod Stewart, and drummer Kenney Jones—have been working on a new album project for several years. Jones explained in a 2021 interview that the Faces had started putting together a record featuring a mix of new songs and older previously unreleased material.

In February of 2024, Stewart told Vulture that he, Wood, and Jones were “still struggling to make this album.”

The last Faces studio album, Ooh La La, was released in 1973.
