Bruce Spingsteen took home the second Golden Globe of his career Sunday night, as he won the award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture. His song, “The Wrestler,” for the film of the same name, won in a category that also saw nominations from Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Clint Eastwood and Peter Gabriel.

Bruce Spingsteen took home the second Golden Globe of his career Sunday night, as he won the award for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture. His song, “The Wrestler,” for the film of the same name, won in a category that also saw nominations from Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Clint Eastwood and Peter Gabriel.
Springsteen previously won the award in 1994 for his song “Streets of Philadelphia” from the Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks film Philadelphia. The Boss also took home the Oscar that year for the song and his win Sunday positions him nicely for this year’s Oscar ceremony. Though Oscar nominations won’t be unveiled until Tuesday, January 20th, it’s tough to imagine Springsteen’s “The Wrestler” won’t be nominated, especially after the critical praise the film is currently enjoying.
The comeback story of a professional wrestler starring Mickey Rourke, the film saw an award for Rourke Sunday night as Best Actor in a Drama, and Marisa Tomei received a Supporting Actress nomination for her work in the film as well.
