Butterfly Boucher Inspired by the Beatles, Beck and her unconventional parents, Butterfly began recording at 10 years old. Later, her older sister (Butterfly is one of seven daughters) started a band The Mercy Bell and soon recruited Butterfly to play bass, sing and share the writing duties. After a demo deal that led nowhere, friend Mike Dixon pushed Butterfly to pursue a solo career. The advice didn’t fall on deaf ears.

Butterfly‘s childhood obsession with all musical instruments remains apparent on each of her recordings today. You’ll find organs, pianos, mellotron, banjos and ever hammers and planks of wood on her recordings. She’s refined her songwriting over the years; each of her songs is sugary pop-rock bottled for your enjoyment. Check out her MYSPACE and the video for “I Can’t Make Me Love You” below.
