Sturgill Simpson, Brandy Clark, Lori McKenna and Maren Morris are among the nominees, announced this morning, for the 59th annual Grammy Awards.

Simpson earned an Album of the Year nod for A Sailor’s Guide to Earth, which took the #4 spot in our Top 50 Albums of 2016. He is also nominated for Best Country Album.
Clark, who notably did not receive any CMA Award nominations for her acclaimed Big Day in a Small Town (#21 on our list), is up for Best Country Album and Best Country Solo Performance (“Love Can Go to Hell”).
Morris, who just took home a Best New Artist win at this year’s CMA Awards, has four nominations, for Best Country Solo Performance (“My Church”), Best Country Song (“My Church”), Best Country Album (Hero, #40 on our list) and Best New Artist.
McKenna also has four nominations, for Best Country Song (“Humble and Kind”), Best American Roots Performance (“Wreck You”), Best American Roots Song (“Wreck You”) and Best Americana Album (The Bird and the Rifle).
Beyoncé takes the top spot with nine nominations, including Album of the Year (for Lemonade) and Record of the Year (for “Formation”). Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna trail Beyonce´with eight nominations each.
