Southern rock legend Gregg Allman’s highly-anticipated solo album and Rounder Records debut, Low Country Blues, is nearly here. The good folks at NPR Music are letting you hear it before the January 18 release date.
Low Country Blues was produced by roots music master T Bone Burnett, who kept the production stripped-down and to the point. The album, Allman’s first solo effort in 14 years and first for an indie label, features Doyle Bramhall II on guitar, Dennis Crouch on acoustic bass, and Jay Bellarose on drums, and Dr. John on piano. Low Country Blues features covers of blues classics by Muddy Waters (“I Can’t Be Satisfied”), Skip James (“Devil Got My Woman”), BB King (“Please Accept My Love”), and more.
