Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Crushed Stars have earned raves from the blogosphere for their near-perfect blend of evocative, lush indie pop songs. Singer Todd Gautreau and drummer Jeff Ryan, who’s worked with everyone from War on Drugs to St. Vincent, play most of the instruments on their new album Farewell Young Lovers, which was produced by Grammy-winner Stuart Sikes (White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Cat Power).

“It seems there’s a new sense of energy woven into these new tracks, there are more textures and electronics expanding the musical landscape,” Ryan says of Farewell Young Lovers. “The straightforward harder songs ‘Flowerbomb’ and ‘Haters’ show a musical side that hasn’t been seen before from us, even though there’s still a common thread between these songs and the others on the album.”
Stream the album ahead of its January 21 release date via Simulcra records, and don’t miss the video for “Flowerbomb” below.
