Nashville duo Steelism have gotten a lot of attention for their singular take on instrumental music, as showcased on their debut full-length album, 2014’s 615 to FAME. Now, they’re getting ready for the release of their sophomore album with a multi-EP series that begins with The Drawing Room Volume 1. The duo of Spencer Cullum and Jeremy Fetzer recorded the EP at Nashville’s Battle Tapes Studio with Engineer Jeremy Ferguson and found inspiration for the five tracks in a Victorian manor during their U.K. tour earlier this year.
We’ve got a taste of what you can expect from the EP with new track “The Serge.” Co-written with Brendan Benson of the Racounteurs, the song is a spooky, ’70s-inspired tune that combines the best of the sensibilities of each artist.
Listen to “The Serge” below, and pick up your copy of The Drawing Room Volume 1 on July 10 right here.
