Wharfer
The Artist: Wharfer aka Scranton native Kyle Wall
The Song: “Tea Leaves” from the album Eyelids, out June 10.
Fun Fact: Eyelids was mixed on Wall’s phone.
Songwriter Says: “Musically and lyrically, there’s a pretty tired and weary aura blanketing the whole thing, signaling a kind of accepted defeat with some glimmers of hope poking through in weird places. This is actually the first Wharfer song to feature a proper rhythm section, Roy Williams on bass and Shane O’Hara on drums, two of my old bandmates from Scranton’s long-running but now defunct The Minor White. There’s even a little lyrical callback to one of our old songs.”
