Song Premiere: The Weeks, “Talk Like That”

Three long years after the release of their acclaimed LP Dear Bo Jackson, Mississippians-turned-Nashvillians The Weeks have returned with the announcement of an upcoming album – due sometime in 2017, though no exact date has been announced – and with it, a new single, “Talk Like That.” The song’s poppy edge highlights a newfound sunniness in the southern garage sound the band has spent the last decade fine tuning.

“‘Talk Like That’ is an open letter to the music industry,” says the band of the album’s first single. “The climate of this business has convinced so many people that if it doesn’t work in a month, it will never work. To scrap everything and try again with a different group of people. Rock and roll is about blind faith. Betting on yourself every time. Give the punches. Take the punches. Forcing the world to surrender to your charm.”

The currently-untitled upcoming record was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis with producer Paul Ebersold. Listen to the new track and check out a list of the band’s upcoming tour dates below.
