On February 20, Cedar Creek Music will release Now What!, the latest album from Tommy Womack.

“This record is totally a sequel, hence the title,” says the sardonic Nashville singer-songwriter. “The last record [There, I Said It!] was all about being washed up. “This one is about what happened when There, I Said It! gave me my career back.”

Get a sneak preview of the album track “I Love You To Pieces” below. “Every now and then you’ve got to just have a fun song,” Womack tells American Songwriter. “Nothing too heavy, nothing too dark, foreboding, nothing with a lot of big words, just something fun.

‘I Love You to Pieces’ is a love song from a guy with more issues than The New York Times, and he’s telling you up front what they are. ‘I’m a miserable man, but I’m a good first-date. Don’t get in too deep, you might get out too late.’ And this guy knows how to party. ‘Break out the bazooka. Let’s take out the block. Be my hickory sweetheart. I’ll be your dickory dock.’ Not to mention he’s an incurable romantic – ‘Would you like me to love you? You could love me back. I’d love you to give me, my first heart attack.’ Throw in a good beat and some greasy guitar and Dylan harp, and 24 non-singing bars of plain old jacking around at the end, you’ve got yourself the start of your next fish fry.”
