Check out this cool track off Americana singer/songwriter Corb Lund’s upcoming album, Cabin Fever, out August 14. The song, “Gettin’ Down On The Mountain,” is a country rocker with a gritty tinge to it.

“I first started this song years ago and it was about partying at a ski resort; ‘gettin’ down in a mountain town’, etc,” Lund says. “Then it turned into an ‘end of civilization’ kind of thing. You never know how these things are going to turn out. It’s a canned food and ammo rocker.”

Lund, the former frontman of punk/metal band The Smalls, cites his time in that band as giving him his unique approach to country music.

“Chaos and irreverence informs the way I write,” he says. “I’m also drawn to harmony and chord choices that are outside the norms of country.”
