Andrea Tomasi’s
haunting track “Falcon” hums with the gentle sounds of the fauna of a northeastern forest. It’s only fitting that the noises of Appalachian wildlife would feature heavily on Tomasi’s record Hurricane Dream – she recorded the album deep in the woods atop New York’s Shawangunk Ridge.

“I wrote this song while I was living in Hudson, in a two bedroom apartment that I shared with a good friend. The apartment got really good light, and we kept it very minimal, so our living room space always felt more like a studio,” says Tomasi.

“The story of the falcon is a metaphor for someone who lures you in, but can’t necessarily be trusted because they are greedy, and might drop you for the next best thing,” she says. “And, the frustration behind the cyclical nature of that behavior, as in the second verse where it goes: ‘in a CIRCLE you will fly, stretching out your beady eye, hunter you are flying fast’.”
