Two of England’s most celebrated bands, Radiohead and Coldplay are diversifying their forms of purchasable music by joining the world of vinyl. Radiohead’s OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief and Coldplay’s Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head will be released on vinyl August 19.

These six vinyl records are part of a Capitol/EMI series called “From the Capitol Vaults,” which re-masters reissues on high-quality vinyl and provides artwork and packaging that simulates that of the original editions.

Recent studies have proven vinyl records to be reversing the trend of the declining music industry by actually being a lucrative source of revenue for both bands and labels. Other bands going vinyl with their albums are The Beach Boys with Pet Sounds, John Lennon with Imagine, and R.E.M. with Document, to name a few.

More Radiohead and Coldplay albums are expected to be reissued on vinyl as well. Pre-orders have shown that the vinyl records will be priced between $20 and $30.
