For any father who has a daughter, they know the feeling of holding her for the first time. Being there for her when she is scared or hurt. The connection between father and daughter can melt even the hardest of hearts. When channeling those feelings into his new song, Post Malone focused on the pain of having to say goodbye to her one day. Eventually having to walk her down the aisle at her wedding, Malone sang, “She might be your better half / Yeah but she’s my everything.”

Already gaining high praise online, fans gushed over the love Malone has for his daughter. Comments included, “My daughter turned 1 month yesterday and this song just made me cry again. I think only people who have daughters would feel the deeper emotion of this amazing song. I like the new Post.” One person added, “Amazing song Posty!!!! Much love to all the dads out there who found their Father Daughter dance song.”

Post Malone Prepares For His Debut Country Album ‘F-1 Trillion’

Although not wanting to let go of his daughter, Malone seemed to find peace with the lyrics, “And we’ll both love her forever / But I loved her long before / And one day I know I’ll give her away / Buddy, that don’t mean she’s yours.”

While letting the lyrics do the talking, Malone decided to keep the music video simple by performing it at “A Night in Nashville.” With over 1,000 people in attendance, fans needed to gain entry through a contest hosted by Bud Light. And with Malone sharing the song for the first time, those fans won more than a concert as the singer took them on a journey through fatherhood.

As for his new album, F-1 Trillion, it will be available to stream starting August 16.
