Post Malone has been flirting with entering the country music world for years. Now he’s poised to release his genre debut, F 1-Trillion. The project’s tracklist is full of a-list collaborations that prove country music is welcoming the “White Iverson” singer with open arms. Most recently, he announced his Grand Ole Opry debut.

For an up-and-coming country artist, few honors are bigger than standing on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Standing in The Circle and performing for the pews full of country fans means the genre has accepted them. It means that someone in the organization believes in what they’re doing. With Malone’s musical history and his recent foray into country music, being invited to play the Opry speaks volumes.

Brad Paisley Invited Post Malone to Make His Opry Debut
Brad Paisley was one of the first country artists to accept Post Malone into the fold. When he heard Malone sing “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song)” at the We’re Texas virtual benefit in 2021, Paisley added, “I write songs for Post Malone” to his social media bio sections. So, it seems fitting that he extended the invitation.
Last week, Paisley took to social media to invite Malone to make his Grand Ole Opry debut. In a video, he said, “Hey Post, Brad here. So, what I’m about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think. Knowing you and knowing the respect you have for country music and this journey you’re embarking on now as a hillbilly singer, which is gonna be massive and remarkable and amazing for both country music and, I think, you,” he began. “Would you like to play the Opry? Come play it with me in August,” he added.
As if he needed to sweeten the deal, Paisley added, “Total invite and it’s going to be the first of many appearances, I think, from you. Come experience what it’s like to play the show that started it all. You and I can jam together. A lot of your friends will be there. We’re going to have a blast.”
