Phish reunited for the first time in nearly five years this weekend, playing three marathon shows in Hampton, Virginia to the collective delight of fans everywhere.

They didn’t just repeat the same batch of songs, either, a la the Police.

Instead, they unveiled rarities like “Sanity” and “Scent of A Mule,” twenty-plus minute jams like “Down With Disease,” and concert favorites like “Run Like An Antelope” and “You Enjoy Myself.” They even found time to premier a new song, “Backwards Down the Line.”

The band who once played a different band’s album back-to-back every Halloween offered plenty of covers as well. During the weekend, Phish dipped into “2001: A Space Odyssey,” the Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” the Velvet Underground’s “Rock and Roll,” George Jones’ “She Still Thinks I Care,” Edgar Winters’ “Frankenstein,” and the Rolling Stones’ “Loving Cup.”

The second show climaxed with the Beatles’ “A Day In The Life.”
