For anyone who has to spend Valentine’s Day with their special someone over Skype, this year’s video call can be a little more special than usual, thanks to a new collaboration. Iconic singer-songwriter Paul McCartney teamed up with Skype to create Love Moji’s, the world’s first audio emojis, as a special feature for the holiday.

The project pairs McCartney’s compositions with Skype’s designs to create 10 love-themed emojis users can send to each other when they can’t quite express themselves in words. “It turned out to be a great laugh at the same time as challenging because you suddenly realize you’ve got to compress a musical interpretation of an expression into less than five seconds,” says McCartney. “It was like doing a huge crossword puzzle and coming up with all these solutions. And at the same time it was musical so it was great practice for me in the studio.”
McCartney’s Love Moji’s are available on Skype now.
