Paul Craft Dies At 76

Paul Craft, the songwriter of wistful and humorous hits such as”Brother Jukebox,” “Walking Home In The Rain” and “Dropkick Me Jesus (Through The Goalposts Of Life),” died Saturday morning. He was 76.

Craft, a stalwart of the Nashville songwriting community, was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame earlier this year after years of being nominated. His songs were recorded by numerous artists over the years, including the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, Allison Krauss and Ray Stevens. The writer was one of few in his field to be inducted into MENSA, a group of individuals whose IQ is in the top 2 percent of the world.
