It’s quite an honor to get inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame once, but being honored at the famed ceremony twice is pretty wild. Let’s look at just a few famous names that have been inducted twice through the years!

This is just a short list of music legends who have been twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A few honorable mentions include:
- Eric Clapton
- Peter Gabriel
- Curtis Mayfield
- Paul Simon
- Jeff Beck
- Johnny Carter
- Clyde McPhatter
…and quite a few more.
1. Ozzy Osbourne
Ozzy Osbourne is the newest addition to the list of artists who have been twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Osbourne was first inducted into the HOF back in 2006 as a member of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath.
In 2024, Osbourne was inducted again as an individual artist. He had been eligible for induction for almost 20 years before finally being nominated, and it only took that one nomination to nab him a second spot in music history.
2. The Beatles
John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr were inducted into the HOF outside of The Beatles in 1994, 2004, 1999, and 2015, respectively. However, the former Beatles were previously inducted as a whole band back in 1988.
Ironically, Mick Jagger was one of the artists to induct The Beatles for the first time, despite Lennon having a few disparaging words for him back in the day.
3. Michael Jackson
The King of Pop was first inducted into the HOF back in 1997 as a member of the family group The Jackson 5. He was inducted along with his siblings Tito, Jackie, Jermaine, Randy, and Marlon.
Jackson is a bit more well-known for his powerhouse solo career, which earned him a second induction as a soloist a few years later in 2001. He’s probably the most well-known pop star to be twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
4. Lou Reed
One can’t deny that The Velvet Underground had a massive impact on rock music back in the day, so it only makes sense that the proto-punk outfit would get inducted into the HOF in 1996. If anything, it was long overdue.
Lou Reed also embarked on a very successful and memorable solo career after his time with the band. The Godfather of Punk was inducted a second time posthumously in 2015.
