Day two of the popular Bash on the Bay festival will be postponed. Why? Flooding. The annual festival, which features country star and American Idol judge Luke Bryan will not continue as planned due to the weather.

Bryan was set to take the stage today (Aug. 24) at 3 p.m. local time. The news comes on the heels of Bryan cancelling several tour dates due to an undisclosed illness.

Officially, the festival, which takes place in Put-in-Bay, Ohio, has halted thanks to storm damage and subsequent flooding at the local Put-in-Bay Airport. Weather patterns all across the country, from swelling temperatures and wildfires to tropical storms in southern California, continue to cause havoc.

The festival, which began on Wednesday, has featured high-profile artists, including Pitbull and Elle King. Even Pitbull reportedly cut his set short on Wednesday because of the storms, which hit the Ohio island around 10 p.m. at night local time yesterday (Aug. 23).

According to 614 Events, which organized the musical festivities, information about the show’s rescheduling, possible refunds, and more will be released next week. While held at a remote location, as many as 20,000 people were anticipated to be on-hand for the event at the Lake Erie island locale.

Weather reporters at the National Weather Service have said the region has been hit with as much as 7 inches of rain and a flood warning was in effect through parts of the day today.

As for Bryan, he hasn’t been having much luck with show dates as of late. Several days after cancelling and postponing a handful of shows earlier in August, Bryan was forced to cancel his concert in Brandon, Mississippi, on August 13, due to an undisclosed illness.

“Dear Brandon, MS I am regretfully going to have to cancel my show there tonight,” wrote Bryan on his social media pages. “Under doctor advisement after taking six days off to heal I attempted to sing at both shows Thursday and Saturday and it was a struggle. Every show I sing I’m setting my voice back. I will continue to do everything I can to get better.”

Bryan added, “Please know how much you mean to me and how heartbreaking this is to do.”
