“Nobody Sings a Ballad Better” Than Vince Gill and This Beautiful Rendition of “Look at Us” With Paul Franklin Proves It

Back in 1991, Vince Gill released the song “Look at Us.” Surrounding the love shared between couples over the years, the song showed just how quickly time passes by. Besides recording the song, it ended up on Gill’s album Pocket Full of Gold. Over the years, other singers like John Prine and Deana Carter performed the song. Just another hit in the long line of hits from Gill, the singer joined forces with Paul Franklin for a live performance.

While many have watched Gill perform on stage, for “Look at Us”, the singer didn’t need a room full of people. Sitting in a small studio, Gill and Franklin jumped into the song. Showcasing their raw talent, fans soaked up every second with comments reading, “My Heart. I adore Vince, and Paul Franklin is the best there is on the steel guitar.” Another person insisted, “Nobody sings a ballad better than Vince. Period.”

After running through the entire classic hit, the two just shared a laugh with each other as if they didn’t just produce another hit performance with ease. And other than playing together, back in 2023, they collaborated on the album Sweet Memories

Vince Gill Ignored At The Sphere

Outside of playing with Franklin and sharing his love for his wife, Amy Grant, Gill also spent some time performing at The Sphere with the Eagles. Having collaborated with stars like Kelly Clarkson, Patty Loveless, and Maren Morris, Gill found himself with the legendary rock band as they took the stage at the iconic Sphere. Fashioned with mesmerizing technology, the singer discussed what it was like to perform at the venue.

Speaking with USA Today, Gill joked, “It’s the most people I’ve ever been ignored by! I’m up there singing my heart out and everybody is looking up (as the visuals). It’s pretty massive with everything going on behind you. I wouldn’t turn around and look for fear I’d have a stroke. I’ve been playing for 60 years and I’ve never used (in-ear monitors). That’s kind of a mind bender because I’m disconnected from the crowd and that’s a little disconcerting to not be able to hear and feel them. But we’re still doing those great songs and it’s an amazing sounding place.”
